In the year 2018 the program "Sonderforschungsbereiche" (Collaborative Research Centers) became 50 years old. The DFG celebrated this 50th anniversary on the 22. November 2018 with a ceremony in the Redoute in Bonn comprising a variegated evening program and a festive buffet. Among the guests were the members of the Grants Committee on Collaborative Research Centers, many SFB spokespersons (among them the Speaker of the SFB 1027, Prof. Heiko Rieger) and University leaders.
