Karin Jacobs, professor for experimental physics in the Saarland University and PI of B1 and B2 and coordinator of the IRTG of the SFB 1027, became a corresponding member of the Göttingen Academy of Science. This award is given only to professors who have made exceptional achievements in their field. Corresponding members usually live outside northern Germany and participate rather indirectly in the life of the Academy.
